Jay was a member of the Wisconsin Auctioneers Association, a registered Wisconsin Auctioneer, inducted in the Wisconsin Auctioneers Hall of Fame, a member of the National Realtors Association and Wisconsin Realtors Association. He was also a Wisconsin Certified Residential Appraiser.
